This session is designed as a Sub Maximal Steady State Session in which you can  comfortably sustain an average amount of WATTS at a prescribed Stroke Rate for a set amount of time (8mins) within a prescribed HEART RATE ZONE.

The HR ZONE is determined by (220 - AGE) x 0.75 - 0.85%. A Heart Rate Monitor compatible with your ERG will assist you to engage more accurately with this process to determine your FUNCTIONAL POWER THRESHOLD. If you do not have a HR Monitor, you can determine the intensity by your own Rating of Perceived Exertion - it needs to be that place on the very upper edge of UT2 - you can hold it but any more intensity and you know you will tip over into working anaerobically and 'blow out'.

On the flip side, you are more than welcome to turn up, row your ERG, ignore the stats and get the metres in you are looking for!
